I made the spicy cauliflower soup again. You'd be so proud! This was my second attempt making the soup from Alice Water's The Art of Simple Food. The first batch tasted delicious. I am not a big time cauliflower eater. Until I found this soup recipe - and gobi masala. (and I'm racking my brain trying to think of any other cauliflower related foods that I've eaten.)

I've been eating more "green" and now I'm trying to figure out if I'm eating green correctly. I really don't even know what that means -- to eat green. At first I thought eating green meant adding more spinach. Every morning I have a spinach smoothie. Then I thought if whatever I ate gave me gas I must be eating green. (I believe I may be halfway there!) (Is that gre?)
I don't understand my own home-made logic, however. I mean what does gas have to do with green other than one letter of the alphabet?
I discovered a list of 50 ways to eat green out of Bon Appetit magazine. So far - out of 50 ways, I've accomplished the following short list though I only made the discovery a few days ago. I have a ways to go (to get to green) especially since I didn't see farting anywhere on their list.
- Eat more chocolate (often)
- Cook more often (soup!)
- Treasure your trash (I *heart* my garbage!)
- Veg out (veggie soup)
- Turn off the lights (eat in the dark)
- Eat more tofu (No, really, eat in the dark)
- Bag it (So many bags, now I need more storage)
- Pack your own lunch (and suitcases)
For awhile I thought the reason I loved to cook was because I am an admitted food addict. Don't food addicts love to cook? I dunno - maybe. Maybe I'm not really a food addict. Maybe I'm just a really good cook.

I just had two chili dogs. Yum.
We're thinking alike (don't be scared). I just wrote about a book that made me look even deeper into the way I'm eating, and why I need to do more than just acknowledge that I agree with the principles.
Of course your post was also cute and funny. Something I'm not feeling (maybe it's the PMS).
Your recipes sound great to me!! I understand there is a restaurant, in Germany, I think, where you eat in total darkness! ??
I like to cook! Maybe there is an award for the fittest food addict :-)
Happy Thanksgiving, POD! We have plenty to be thankful for, even if it's unanswered prayers that we don't understand yet..
I like your list - #1 especially! Today I had chocolate frozen yogurt AND 2 Dove dark chocolate promises. Soooooo goooooood!
Happy T-day!
I love cauliflower so how have I missed out on cauliflower soup? Yum, thanks for sharing!
This soup sounds awesome! We're housesitting so are short of normal spices, but as soon as we get back to our regular kitchen I'll think about making it but will probably be too lazy to actually follow through.
I love to eat; to cook, meh, not so much.
And have a happy thanksgiving tomorrow!
Soup sounds great.
When will you be back? I'm thinking your cat will have to go to de-tox.... who knew he was such a drinker?
Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!
Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night.
Or as I read in one article, a good (food) fight.
I'm leaving here on Friday, coming home. I'm ready. I can hardly stand all this excitement. ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving, POD. The cauliflower soup sounds great, too. You can do a lot with cauliflower if you prod it a bit. I make a pretty decent spaghetti sauce that incorporates cauliflower.
hmm - how peculiar! Having that [ugh] bowel backup palaver discovered recently, I have started eating 'properly' again this week. That is, veggies and fruit etc. But TOFU?!! SHRIEK! no way - not even in pitch darkness will you get me eating that. Blech. Soy. Double blech. We have quorn instead.
Soup!! yay! But cooking is the FH's department and I don't think I'd survive the suggestion of making cauliflower soup...looks nice though :o)
