Time for This One to Come Home

All these years I've been bitching and whining about having lymphedema. In the photo above, you can see that my left leg is swollen. (I'm the child in the photo that looks Tooter the Turtle.)

Then come to find out -- after looking through all these old photos, I discover my sister only has one leg.

A friend's mother told her, as a child, not to complain about her shoes, because some children have no feet!

Sheesh! All these years, you were so wrapped up in your own complaint that you didn't notice your sister only has one leg????
Poor sister!

Made me laugh right out loud. Thanks for the fun start to a Tuesday.

Make it a wonderful day, J.

Hmmm...sister having one leg...that would explain how she won the jumprope competition and why she always got picked last for the 3-legged races...

My mom's infamous comment was "at least you can walk." I used the resent the heck out of that statement though as I got older, I became thankful that I can walk. So I finally get it.
