I laid down in tan bark to take this photograph. After I got back on my feet (which btw, did not require calling the paramedics), I spent the remainder of the day pulling splinters out of my body.
And is tan bark the same thing we used to call "tambark", which lined school playgrounds growing up? Never did figure out why the powers that be thought splintery hard wood chips would make a great surface to fall on. Owww.
and yet why can my daughter run barefoot in that stuff, not listening to my constant refrain of PUT ON YOUR SHOES YOULL BE SORRY!!!, and get nary a splinter.
do we grown up types attract them? I look at the tan bark and need to run for the tweezers...

great art always involves pain...;o)
You always think outside the box when it comes to getting your shots - gorgeous picture!
And ew, I remember tanbark from my childhood - it provided a never-ending supply of splinters!
Rogue the artist, once again, takes one for the team. Gorgeous shot! (You could use this as your twitter background.)
I think it was worth it, lovely picture!
I have no idea what tanbark is but am familiar with splinters. Ouch.
