I took some time off late yesterday to go "stock up" on supplies -- drinking water (I'm on a well but I don't drink that water) mostly but a few food items too because we are due for another hellacious storm today that weather folk warned was to start at midnight last night though it's 4:45 am and nothing has happened so far.
I arrived home early and was sort of wondering what to do with this extra time besides (eat) watch Kirstie Alley interviewed by Oprah about how she's really going to lose her extra weight this time (with a brand new product she's encouraging us all to buy). She's a gorgeous woman with a food addiction. I hope this new product she's supporting helps her this time because watching her gain and lose and gain and lose and knowing what that's doing to her spirit has been painful to witness. Watching her helps with awareness.

I worked outside in preparation for the storm (that has not arrived yet) and put the garbage cans on the road. I talked with the cat. I spoke with a friend. I pulled weeds. Finally I came into the house, and I sat in my chair and saw the sign across the room, and thought about what I could do then. I actually said this out loud,
"I could read a book."
Then then aloud (again), "What a novel idea!"
And that made me laugh.

I love it when you crack yourself up - I did that a couple of days ago on Facebook and was still chuckling hours later. It's the simple things, right?
Hope the storm is milder than expected.
And Kirstie was on Oprah again? I saw that she's going to have a show on A&E next month - and you're right, painful is an apt word when describing her.
I hope Kirstie finds some peace. And you make me laugh more often than not. Novel, indeed.
I see Kirstie as someone who is just reaching for stuff because she feels so lost. It's horrible to watch and be a part of - even though I have felt the way (I'm projecting) she feels now.
But hey - back to you! I'm glad you've stocked up and are planning on being safe...whether the storm comes or not.
What are you reading these days anyway?
Yeah, when Kirstie did Jenny Craig, I knew she'd gain it back. I used to work for Jenny Craig and I was on the plan. It's a good plan on paper, but it still ends up being a "diet". They don't teach good maintenance.
LOL@ "a novel idea". :)
It's easy to READ into Kirstie's next diet adventure. That CHAPTER will end, too, as that weight-loss program is put on the SHELF. Then she'll have to wait until another diet-gimmick corporation BOOKS her to represent them.
Ok, that was fun. (The time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time).
I love to read. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I usually spend my free time reading blogs now instead of literature. At least I'm having fun!

"Novel idea" indeed. When you pass a sign that reads "Giant Truck Sale," do you look for the giant trucks? :-)
Storm coming in this afternoon -- heavy rains and winds. The worst of it during the afternoon commute hour, NOAA says. Stay safe and dry.
It has occurred to me that some folks are not getting my pun.
I am reading a few books. The ones I remember right this moment are:
The Elegance of the Hedgehog
(and) Wake up to your life
I'm on goodreads.com under Janell P. if you want to go there and see some huge(ass) list of books.
I just finished The Elegance of the Hedgehog. I loved it.
Do you think we'll get through this storm without losing power?
I always get you.
you
so
pun'y.
And I loved those books as well.
Im currently reading Skateboards Will Be Free (rec.of my mom. quirky book) and have no comments on Kirstie.
Couldnt sit through the entire show....
That's what I need...awareness signs. "Mindfulness is a source of happiness." I like that.
You're "novel", actually. Thank goodness for that :-)
Poor Kirstie.
