Saturday I went with Bella After our coffee ritual, we drove to Rio Del Mar to walk - down and past the cement boat, chasing sandpipers and seagulls most of the way to New Brighton. The sun was shining, all was right with the world. Bella and I went back to repeat the beach walk again on Sunday, and again this morning at 6:30 a.m. just as the sun was coming up.
I'm going to do this more often. The freedom of movement inside this much smaller body of mine is remarkable. Almost no knee pain. No hip pain. The only pain if you can call what I feel pain is from actual movement, like eventually my legs go "ouch." A few times I would jog on the sand. My once upon a time (though no longer) plumpity plump sister running up behind me shouting "Are we running!?"
And yes, we were.
It feels great to be able to run, a simple thing that is not so simple when you are fat.

Now you're going to have to change your subtitle to "At least I can run. "
Yay for you and your new found freedom in a littler body.
So when was the last time you ran with your sister? Reverting to childhood can bring all sorts of joys. I love this post.
Fabulous Janell!!
One time year's ago when I lived in the frozen north, a girlfriend of mine came running toward me on an icy sidewalk. The romance lasted about 5 steps before she nose dived into a snow bank! Well, they say it's important to laugh together too :-)
Awwww - I now have this mental image of Bella and Hannah running toward each other.... too cute!
Along with that, of course, I also have a mental image of you being chased by your sister...... also cute, but in a different way! :)
How much do I love that you and your sister were acknowledging the fact that you two were running?!? Talk about a "who would have thunk it" moment!
And Hannah and Bella - adorable. As usual. :)
LOVELOVELOVELOVE
This misfit doesnt think running is simple at all.
HEY I am fat and I can run! You know that 4.1 earthquake on Friday? Well...
forgot my name on the earthquake remark....
I'm smiling so big right now.
Either that dog's getting bigger, or you're getting smaller. Though I think the answer is, there is no either/or.
Sounds absolutely perfect. :)
Bella and Hannah in slow motion...I can just see it.
Running with your sister...Good for you! That sounds like fun!
