Pack of Two

I'm sad because my brother who turns 50 years old this week has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He said he was watching the movie Love and Other Drugs and that is how he diagnosed his condition. He has been going to the VA for different appointments with different specialists. He met with a neurologist who gave him the same diagnosis. Parkinson's.

Me and my peeps
When Bella and I went to the beach on Saturday, we were verbally accosted by a woman with a English bulldog on a leash. Bella attempted her usual cheerful Corgi greeting and Bella's greeting backfired BIG TIME. The woman hit me with a flurry of cuss words that in all my 55 years combined, I've never heard 'em all. I won't repeat them but will attempt a sort of recipe you too can follow when greeted by a corgi. First off,  use your imagination, considering the swear word possibilities. Begin with a loud shrieking bale starting with "You gawdamn blankety blank blank c*nt!" Then add the worst words you could call someone --- c*nt! unleash (pun!) a string of random name-calling Banshee wailing. Toss in words like 'stupid' and then add special phrases such as "What the eff is WRONG with you?"Add more screaming, tantrum-throwing, 30-something, short stocky woman, dragging her leashed bulldog, and quietly embarrassed husband, along for a lovely ocean stroll in the warm winter sun with tons of dogs and owners around, ranting at top lung power about *MY* being out of control. She screamed at me, "You think this is funny but you won't when my dog eats your dog!" And I said very softly, "I'm surprised you didn't eat her." That was pretty much all I said through the entire chaotic moment except when I bent over to pick up Bella, I asked the woman's husband if he could get some control of her?

The insanity ended with a final "I'm going to f*ck you up!"

I felt like I was in a gang. A gang of two. Later I realized that woman must have been really fearful. I couldn't think of any other rationale for her behavior because it sure as sh*t had nothing to do with me and my corgster, Bellybutton.

I am so sorry to hear about your brother's diagnosis. That would be tough to accept, but especially so with him being so young.

And as to the bitch on the beach? Well, I suspect her dog had acted just like her in the past and she was afraid it was going to happen again. Still, what an experience. Certainly not the zen walk on the beach that anyone would want.

That's tough news about your brother...sorry you both have to deal with that.

As for the freak on the beach...WOW. Somebody really needs to get started back on her meds. And Bella is just so friggin' adorable...I just love puppy pics. But I think I'd teach her the command "KILL" just in case you encounter the freak again, lol. :)

Oh please, I watched how Bella greeted other dogs at the beach...that woman is an idiot. And to have such venomous words come out, well, I can only imagine how ugly of a person she is, inside and out. I'm sorry you had to experience that - Miss Bella is such a sweetheart and that beach bitch is missing out on getting to know her...and you. Gah! People!!!

Also, I'm sorry about your brother's diagnosis. That has to be rough. Damn, 50? That's young.

I'm sad for you too Janell.

The woman on the beach was a wackjob.

Neither of these things makes sense.

I'm sorry about your brother, too. But I've read that there is tremendous progress being made. There is always hope.

That witch is a sicko, for sure. I must admit I laughed when you said you were surprised she didn't eat Bella! Good comeback. I hope you don't ever run into her again! Poor Bella.

Bulldog people. Sheesh - they're all like that. Sounds like her husband let HER off-leash and shouldn't have.
Wish I had been there. My cusscabulary is amazing - I could have prompted you with a few choice ones.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. As Cheryl said, they are making great strides with treatment.

So sorry to hear your brothers diagnosis. And he's so young! But, maybe since he is younger, there is a greater chance for treatment. We can only hope.

As for the beach scene...I would expect someone to act that way when my dog goes Cujo (in fact, I keep expecting it, haha). But not for Bella! I did get a kick out of the cuss recipe. But, that idiot needs her mouth washed out.

Well, I'm glad you stood up to that bully!

We have leash laws in Florida, which as I understand it, California does not have. Therefore, kick that woman to the curb (or Corb :-), buddy!

First - that photo of your bunny holding gang - precious.

Sad news about your brother. But like others have already pointed out, maybe progress is being made with regard to treatment and such. Don't know. It does suck to get that kind of diagnosis. No getting around that.

Always taken aback when encounters with damaged people occur. Feel sorry for her dog & partner. We don't even want to know where that misplaced anger came from.

Be the light.

Just all too sad. Your brother is young - I have a friend who was diagosed about that age, too. It's hard to deal with. When it comes to that woman, there is such a thing as insanity, way outside our normal understanding and their control.

Sorry to hear about your brother diagnosis. Gotta be hard to hear, especially since he is so young. Damn it!

That is all the searing I will do, sounds like you got most of your allotted idiotness swearing at the beach. What kind of a woman calls another woman the C word. Seriously?? What a shock, right? I am not sure what I would do in the situation.
